Uvita Marketplace

General topic into which fit the smaller, more defined categories like: shops, services etc...

Rincón de Uvita

A commercial center and sports complex, with the first gym south of San Isidro, was created by a European developer who believes in giving something back to the Tico (Costa Rican) community.  Rincón de Uvita is an expression of this philosophy.

All shops, restaurants and services are Tico owned and operated.  The one exception is the Farmers Market that is held every Saturday morning and is frequented by Ticos and Foreigners alike.  The Saturday market is a regular event for people from all over the Southern Zone.

The complex features an indoor soccer field that is in constant use with league games & tournaments.  A young local once remarked that he was profoundly appreciative to the owner of the complex since he knew, first hand, that it helped him and others to stay off the streets, plus helped him to stay in shape.

There is a fully equipped gym located on the second floor that offers aerobics, weight training and spinning classes.  The Rincón also has 2 restaurants, a cafe, and an office supply store.

Uvita Farmers Market

Uvita is growing... no wait, check that.  Uvita is exploding. Climate, simplicity, beaches, wildlife, tour activities, the list goes on.  Uvita is a very attractive place and it has been found.

Uvita enjoyed its first Farmers Market, or Feria as it's called here, Saturday, May 10th, 2008.  Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of the event was the much commented "sense of community", but the available fruits and vegetables weren't bad either.
